July 2020
We're back! Thursday 9th July saw the first club night after the Covid break. 9 members pitched for an enjoyable evening at the Milburys. Thanks to Roger for this picture showing a nice line up of machines with a few dubious characters loitering with intent!
We are all obviously observing social distancing but great to be back out there. To get us back in the swing of things, our usual club night will take place Thursday 16th. Keep watching this space for updates, but keep safe all.
February 2020
We've had a good start to the season with club nights being well attended. Russ is doing a grand job as Events Co-ordinator so if you see him passing sheets of paper around on club night, it will most probably be to inform you about up and coming events and inviting you to attend events as a club if you would like ..... so don't be shy, for a starter we have:
- On 19th March we are lucky to have Ed Wright come and talk about his time working as an engineer at the BSA Factory, so mark the date in your diary
- Sunday 26th April - Popham Breakfast Ride
January 2020
16 of us met for the AGM, and great to welcome a new member, Ed who joins us from the Cheshire Branch and used to work at the BSA factory. Ed came with some great ideas to raise some club funds, such as treasure hunts and auctions.
A few key things to note - Joe resigned from his post as Events Co-ordinator and was duly replaced by Russ and Pete replaced Bob as Chairman. Otherwise committee positions remain unchanged.
£248.48 was raised in 2019 for the Hants and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HAIOWAA) and we all agreed to top that up from club funds to £300. Another great result, and that does not include the donations already made directly to the charity during our visit to them in July. We all agreed to continue with HAIOWAA as our chosen charity for 2020.
Date for your diaries - Hants Summer Camp - 31st July - 2nd August at the Milburys.
St. George's Day Popham visit to meet up with Thames Valley Branch - Sunday 26th April
Christmas 2020 meal - Saturday 19th December at the Milburys
Awards weekend at Bognor Regis - 27th - 29th November (A great opportunity to meet with like minded friends from other clubs).
Pat also suggested to have an extra unofficial (no subs) Thursday club meeting on those five week months (on the fifth Thursday). These will apply April, July, October and December - but keep an eye on the website for any special arrangements/meeting places etc.
